About Us

Our philosophy is that good mental health is derived from our capacity to emotionally self-regulate and manage our feelings effectively.  Our capacity to regulate our emotions is also central to developing healthy relationships with others.  We believe that an important factor in our ability to manage our emotions stems from how feelings were managed in our childhood.

We have a ‘let’s explore the underlying reasons we are as we are’, rather than ‘what is wrong with you’.  In our emotionally focused model, issues such as anxiety, depression, and drug dependence are not regarded a ‘faults in you’ but are more about understanding how problems have developed, and learning the tools to cope with life issues.

Our goal is to work with you to assist you in accepting past events that have led to your current difficulties, and to find better ways to manage your feelings.  We work with compassion, understanding, and curiosity to assist you to build more effective life-skills and move forward with a greater sense of purpose and optimism.
